Civilized society can’t accept such cruelty

A heartbreaking incident has occurred in Narsingdi.  A female student of class five was burnt alive!  Her aunty Beauty Begum (father's sister-in-law) and other relatives burnt her dead by pouring kerosene. Human being cannot accept such barbarous and cruel. The girl was burnt to death in a false allegation of stealing a mobile phone set. The killing allegation has been raised against her aunty, aunty of father and brothers of aunty.

According to reports published in different media, the cruel incident took place on 27 October at Khoinkut village under Shibpur upazila in Narsingdi. A 13-year-old girl named Aziza Khatun was burned to death in a false allegation of stealing a mobile phone set. She was set fire by pouring kerosene.

Hearing the Aziza's cry, local people rescued Aziza and took her to Narsingdi Hospital first. Later, she was taken to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. She succumbed to her burn injuries on Saturday morning.

Aziza was a class five student of Khoinkut Government Primary School. Before his death, she named the people responsible for her death. Aziz’s father poultry farm worker Abdus Sattar told this to reporters. He said, Aziza said, “Dad, I will die. But believe me, I did not steal mobile. They tied my hands and set me on fire. After the incident, aunty Beauty Begum and her relatives have fled. Police arrested Aziza’s relative Tamuza Begum and kerosene vendor Abdur Rashid for interrogation.

In primary interrogation, Tamuza said that the mobile was not stolen, Aziza saw some strange scenes of extra martial affairs of Beauty Begum and that's why she was killed. Tamuza took Aziza by a CNG to the house of aunty Beauty Begum at Uttar Kamalpur village of Joshar Union.  Aziza was tortured by hanging her legs. Later on night, she was taken to a mound near the house and poured kerosene on her body and set fire to her.

They thought that Aziza would die on the spot. As a result nobody will know about them.
All the morals of the society have disappeared. Who are doing this are not human being. They are bad from animals. And the number of such inhuman ones is increasing. It is a matter of great concern that our children are becoming victims of family and social conflict. But this is not acceptable in the civilized society. We do not want Aziza like anyone else to be victimized by such brutal killing. For this, the concerned authorities should take urgent initiatives. It is necessary to bring these atrocities under the law as quickly as possible. They will be given exemplary punishment.
