Classes, examinations of VNSC closed sine die

Staff Correspondent:  Classes and examinations of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC) have been closed sine die over the movement following suicide of one student.

Senior teacher and governing body representative of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College Mushtari Sultana confirmed the matter on Wednesday.

Boycotting classes and examinations, students of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College continued their demonstration for the second consecutive day on Wednesday in front of the institute's Bailey Road branch over the suicide of one of their peers.

Holding placards, hundreds of students along with their guardians gathered in front of the gate protesting the suicide of a ninth grader, Aritry Adhikary, after her parents were humiliated by the school authorities after the student was suspected of plagiarism.

Aritree Adhikari, a Class-IX student, reportedly committed suicide at their Shantinagar residence in the city on Monday after allegedly being rebuked by teachers for using mobile phone during examination.
