Coal-laden cargo capsizes in Pashur River

Bagerhat Correspondent: A coal-laden cargo vessel capsized in Harbariya area of channel of Pashur River in Mongla near the Sundarbans.
The cargo vessel named MV Niloy-2 carrying 750 metric tonnes of coal sunk early Sunday. However, no salvage operation started yet.
Anisul Haque, captain of the lighterage ship said, the ship was heading towards Jashore after taking coal from an Indonesian ship. Later, the cargo ship got stuck in a hidden char and later sank in the river. Meanwhile, the crew members of the ship have been survived by swimming to the shore.
Mongla port authority confirmed the matter.
