Cop killed in Ashulia road crash

Staff Correspondent, Savar: A police officer was killed and injured three others as a police van collided with a truck on Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Ashulia area of Savar on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Jashim Uddin. He was posted at Ashulia police station.

Sources said that four policemen were returning to the police station after their regular duty from Moragang area. Meanwhile, rod-laden a speedy truck hit the police van on Dhaka-Tangail Highway this morning, leaving ASI Jashim dead on the spot and injured three other policemen.

Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Rizaul Haque Dipu confirmed the matter.
