Couple among 3 killed in clash between 2 buses

A couple among three people were killed and five others injured in a head-on clash between two buses at Shantirhat under Potia upazila in Chattogram on Friday noon.

The deceased were identified as Zahid Hossain, 40, his wife Nigar Sultana, 28, and bus passenger Omar Faruk, 40.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukder of Chattogram Medical College Hospital police outpost said collision between two buses left eight people injured. They were rushed to the hospital where Omar Faruk and Zahid Hossain were declared dead immediately. Nigar Sultana succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

The couple hailed from Koiyarbil area of Cox’s Bazar, he added.
