DNCC by-polls on Feb 28

Staff Correspondent: The by-election to the mayoral post of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and elections to the councillor posts in the 36 new wards will be held on February 28.

Election Commission Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed announced the election schedule while briefing reporters after a meeting at the Nirbachan Bhaban on Tuesday.

The EC secretary also announced that the by-election to Kishoreganj-1 constituency will be held on the same day as the constituency fell vacant after the death of former Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam.

As per the schedule, the last date for submission of nomination paper has been fixed January 30, while nomination scrutiny on February 2 and last date for nomination withdrawal on February 9.
