DU restricts movements of heavy vehicles on campus

Staff Correspondent: The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have decided to set up check posts on the campus to restrict movement of heavy vehicles.
The decisions were taken at the meeting of the proctorial committee in the conference room of the Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Tuesday night.
According to the decision, the authority ordered the proctorial body to set guard in the busiest Nilkhet-TSC route every day from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm to control campus bound vehicles.
Entry of lorries, oil tankers, large trucks and all kinds of heavy vehicles on the campus will not be allowed in the area. The authority also discussed to control the entry of vehicles in Shahbagh, Doyel Chattar, Asiatic Society gate, Chanakharpur-DSC, Palashi and Nilkhet roads.
Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani presided over the meeting where BNCC and rover scout representatives, estate manager Supriya Saha, Ducsu transport secretary Shams-e-Noman, DU journalist association general secretary Mahdi Al Muhtasim Nibir and others attended.
