DU teachers announce protest programmes

Staff Correspondent:  Dhaka University teachers have announced programmes in protest against attack on teachers and students.

They announced the programmes at a press briefing held at Teachers’ Lounge of Teachers-Student Centre at DU on Tuesday.

Dr. Samina Luthfa, associate professor of Sociology Department of Dhaka University, said without any provocation, teachers came to stand by the students who were assaulted for quota reform movement.

A faction of DU teachers condemned the attack of Awami League (AL) student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on students and teachers at a protest rally of quota reform held at the Central Shaheed Minar on Monday (July 15).

Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department Fahmidul Haque, Associate professor Md. Abdur Razzak Khan, Associate Professor of International Relations Tanjimuddin Khan and Assistant Professor of Economics Rushad Faridi also spoke at the press briefing.
