Dam breaks at Sunamganj Shanir haor

Sunamganj Correspondent: A part of dam at Shonir Haor was collapsed in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj on Sunday.
The embankment was damaged at three points including Lalur Goala, Ahammak Khali and Radhapur.
Upazila chairman Kamruzzaman Kamrul confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
He said that the incessant rainfall paired with water flowing down from the upstream hilly areas increased the water level on the hoar and collapsed the embankment.
Locals were trying to repair the dam for the last 24 days, he added.
