Death penalty for four persons upheld

Staff Correspondent: The Appellate Division of the High Court has upheld death penalty for three persons for killing housewife Tahmina Sharmin Tania in the capital’s Purbagoran.

The convicts are Tania’s husband Jahid Hossain Juel, Shahin Alam and Mijanur Rahman.

The Appellate Division also upheld death penalty for husband Mahbubur Rahman for burning to death to his wife Sadeka Banu in Naogaon district.

A bench headed by Chief Justice SK Sinha passed the order on Tuesday.
