Death toll rises to 4 in Sylhet stone quarry

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: The death toll from Sylhet stone quarry accident rose to four with the recovery of two more bodies from the spot in Bholaganj under Companyganj upazila on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Ashik Ali, 30, son of Abdul Jalil and Atabur, 40, son of Akbar Ali.

Earlier on Sunday, two dead bodies of Ruhul Amin, 22 and Matibur, 32 were recovered from the scene.

Confirming the matter, Companyganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Dilip Kanti Nath said that another worker is still missing after the incident.

On Sunday, the mud of the stone quarry collapsed on the workers while they were extracting stones by operating generator around 9:30pm.
