Decision on Khaleda’s appeal in afternoon

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has withheld the hearing on appeal filed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia against rejection of her nomination papers for three constituencies.

The commission halted the hearing, saying that decision would be announced in the afternoon.

Earlier, the EC resumed at 10.00am hearing of remaining 233 appeals filed against the rejection of their nomination papers by the returning officers.

The fate of some heavyweight aspirants like BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad and Krishak Sramik Janata League President Kader Siddiqui will be decided today.
