Derailed bogies in Tongi removed, Train communication resumes

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: The rail communication between Dhaka and other parts of the country resumed around 5:10pm on Sunday, after several carriages of a Dhaka-bound commuter train derailed were removed from the track.

At least four people were killed and 25 others were injured in the incident in Tongi of Gazipur, interrupting the train service on the route.

S M Rafiqul Islam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Joydevpur Junction Police outpost, confirmed the news.

Five carriages of the Dhaka-bound train, coming from Jamalpur, derailed at Natunbazar area adjacent to the Tongi Junction, leaving three killed on the spot while another at hospital.
