DoS chief engineer remanded

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has placed chief engineer and surveyor of the Department of Shipping (DoS) Dr. S M Nazmul Huq on a one-day remand in a case filed for taking bribe.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Muhammad Fahad Bin Amin Chowdhury passed the order on Thursday after hearing in the case.
Earlier, ACC Assistant Director also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Abdul Wadud sought seven days remand.
On April 12, a team of Anti-Corruption Commission launched a drive at a restaurant in Segunbagicha of the capital and arrested Nazmul Huq while taking bribe of Tk 5 lakh.
ACC's Assistant Director Abdul Wadud filed a case with Ramna Model Thana in this regard.
On July 18 last year, the ACC arrested Fakhrul Islam, former chief engineer and surveyor of the same department was caught red-handed with bribe.
