Staff Correspondent: Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury said, “We will have to open the door of justice for marginalised people. Everybody has the right to get justice and we have to ensure that. Then, justice and rule of law will be established in the country.”

The role of judiciary is crucial in establishing justice in society, she said.

"Judiciary is an important organ of the state... It must act to establish rule of law in accordance with the constitution" she told a reception accorded to newly appointed Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain at the Judicial Administration Training Institute(JATI) in the capital on Saturday.

The Speaker laid importance on coordination and good relations among three organs of the state for ensuring an equity-based society removing all sorts of deprivations.

Appreciating the contribution of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the field of women empowerment, she said the womenfolk are working to supplement the efforts of the government to build a "Sonar Bangla" as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Bangladesh Women Judges Association organised the reception with its President Tanjina Ismail in the chair. Advisors of the organization Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Zinat Ara, Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury, General Secretary Jesmine Ara Begum, judges and senior officials, among others, addressed the function.
