Draft policy on home loans finalised

K M A Hasnat: The draft policy on housing loans at low interest rates for government employees has been finalised. The draft policy would be placed to the cabinet meeting with the approval of Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith after he returned home.

Finance secretary Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury told this to the reporters emerging from a meeting in this regard held at the conference room of the Finance Ministry of the Secretariat on Thursday.

The secretary said, “Housing loans for government employees had been discussing for long days. A committee headed by an additional secretary of the Finance Ministry has already been formed. The committee has made a draft policy in this regard which was discussed today’s meeting.”

“The government employees will be able to take loans from four state-owned banks and Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC). The draft policy will be sent to the Finance Minister for his approval. Later, it will be placed to the cabinet with the minister’s approval and recommendations.”
