Drive against chemical begins at Old Dhaka

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) have started its month-long drive against chemical warehouses at Old Dhaka.

Magistrates and officials from various departments of DSCC and RAJUK started the drive around 11:00am on Thursday in Islambag areas.

Staff of Titas Gas, Dhaka WASA and Dhaka Power Distribution Company helped them.

The decision of the drive against chemical godowns at Old Dhaka was taken at a stakeholders' meeting with DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon in the chair on February 12 following the Chawkbazar fire incident that claimed lives of 69 people.
