Drug trader killed in Chhagalnaiya ‘gunfight’

Feni Correspondent: A drug trader namely Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan (33) was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police in the district’s Chhagalnaiya upazila early Sunday.


The gunfight took place in West Pathangar area under Pathangar union.

The deceased was the son of late Abdus Salam of West Pathangar.

Police also recovered a gun, three rounds of bullets, 100 bottles of Phensedyl and 1000 pieces of yaba tables from the spot.

Two police were injured in the gunfight.

Acting on a tiff-off, a team of police conducted a drive in West Pathangar area. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, drug traders opened fire forcing the policemen to back fire that triggered a gunfight.  Alamgir Hossain died on the spot and others fled from the spot.

Officer-in-charge of Chhagalnaiya police station M Morshed confirmed the death.
