‘Drug trader’ killed in Cumilla ‘gunfight’

Cumilla Correspondent: A suspected drug dealer was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) early Tuesday.

The gunfight took place in Jaluapara area of Golabari border under Sadar upazila.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Malek, son of Abdul Khalek, resident of Ramchandrapur village in Chouddogram upazila.

Lt Col Abu Mohhammad Mohiuddin, commanding officer of BGB-10 battalion, said a gunfight took place with drug dealers. Later, they rescued Malek with bullet injury and he was taken to Cumilla Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.

29,860 Yaba pills were recovered from the spot after the gunfight, he also said.
