Drug trader killed in city ‘gunfight’

Staff Correspondent: A listed drug trader named Rajon, 25, was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with RAB on Sunday midnight.

The gunfight took place around 1.15am near Bachhila Garden city area of Mohammadpur.

Senior Assistant Director of RAB-2 (media) ASP Rabiul Islam confirmed the matter.

Tipped off that a gang of drug traders gathered in the river Buriganga, a team of Rab conducted a drive in the area, Rab sources said.

Sensing presence of the elite force, the gang members opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back, triggering the gunfight which left Rajon dead on the spot.

The team also recovered arms, bullets and huge hemp from the spot.
