Ducsu VP Nur begins sit-in protesting assault

Staff Correspondent: Nurul Haque Nur, the vice president of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union, started sit-in programme in front of the vice chancellor’s residence protesting an assault incident.
Nur and some students were seen sitting at the VC intersection in the university campus on Wednesday morning.
The protesters said, “The authorities have to meet our demand otherwise sit-in will continue.”
Earlier, Proctor Professor Dr AKM Golam Rabbani told them to stop sit-in assuring proper justice over the incident around 1:00am. But, the protesters did not accept the teacher’s request.
Ducsu VP Nur said, “The sit-in programme will continue until justice of attack is served and non-students and outsiders are kicked out of the halls.”
Nur and his classmates came under the assault when they went to Salimullah Muslim Hall of Dhaka University to submit a memorandum protesting the attack on a resident student.
