Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has declared the candidacies of BNP leader Mirza Abbas and Bangladesh National Alliance (BNA) chief Nazmul Huda as valid to contest the upcoming 11th parliamentary election.
The EC on Saturday came up with the decision after hearing on appeals they filed.
It also rejected a petition filed by Workers Party of Bangladesh chief Rashed Khan Menen challenging the legality of the candidacy of Mirza Abbas from Dhaka-8 constituency.
Nazmul Hossain will contest polls from Dhaka-17 constituency.
Meanwhile, the EC also accepted nomination of Mirza Abbas’ wife Afroza Abbas for Dhaka-9 constituency.
