EC asks outsiders to leave DNCC

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) asked the outsiders who do not belong to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to leave the corporation area by 12:00 am on Tuesday as the by-elections to the mayoral post and councillor elections to 18 new wards in the corporation are scheduled to be held on February 28.

Md Abul Kashem, returning officer at the DNCC, came up with the directive at the Nirbachon Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Monday afternoon.

“DNCC by-elections will be held on February 28. Outsiders not belonging to the DNCC area have been asked to leave the election area by 12:00 am on Tuesday for the sake of ensuring a peaceful environment ahead of the polls,” said Abul Kashem while talking to reporters at the Nirbachon Bhaban.
