EC orders Deputy Speaker, MP to leave polling area

Staff Correspondent: Election Commission (EC) ordered National Parliament’s Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah and Cox’s Bazar-3 MP Saimum Sarwar Komol to leave Gaibandha-5 polling areas over violating the electoral code of conduct in upazila parishad polls.
A directive signed by EC Deputy Secretary Md Atiar Rahman has been sent to the persons concerned on Saturday.
The second phase of upazila parishad polls will took place on March 18.
The EC earlier directed six MPs to leave the polling areas during the first phase of polls.
