EC satisfied with voting in 3 cities: CEC

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said, “The voting in the three city corporations – Rajshahi, Sylhet and Barishal – has been held in a fair manner. We are satisfied with this election.”

The CEC came up with the comment while addressing a press conference at the Election Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon on Monday evening.

According to the information sent by returning officers, Huda said a polling center in Barishal City Corporation was closed after the beginning of voting due to allegation of anomalies. Last of all, results of 15 more polling centers were postponed.

All of 138 polling centers of Rajshahi City Corporation have witnessed a peaceful voting. All 134 polling centers except two in Sylhet have witnessed fair polls. The voting in one out of 123 poling centers of Barishal City Corporation was suspended following allegations of irregularities, he said.
