Senior Correspondent: The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated on September 2 (Saturday) across the country as the moon of Zilhaj has been sighted in Bangladesh on Tuesday.

Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman came up with the announcement after a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Islamic Foundation in the evening.

The meeting chaired by the minister was held at the conference room of the foundation at Baitul Mokarram mosque.

The Minister said, "The moon of Zilhaj has been sighted in the sky of Bangladesh. We received information of sighting moon from almost all districts of the country including Habiganj,  Laxmipur, Sherpur, Gopalganj and Munshiganj.
