Election official among 6 shot dead in Rangamati

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A presiding officer and five others were shot dead by criminals in Bagaichhari upazila of Rangamati on Monday evening.

At least 14 other people were also injured in this connection.

They came under attack in Noymile area when they were returning to the upazila town after concluding vote counting in the second phase of the 5^th upazila parishad elections.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bagaichhari police station Monjur Alam confirmed this to risingbd.

Among the deceased, Abdul Hannan was identified as the presiding office of a polling centre in Bagaichhari upazila, he said.

The injured were admitted to Bagaichhari upazila health complex, the OC added.
