Election violence claims 2 lives in Cumilla

Cumilla Correspondent: Two people have been killed in Baleshwar and Nangalkot upazilas in police firing during in separate clashes on Sunday.

Bachchu Mia, a resident of Sondail village in Nangalkot upazila, was killed in a clash between the supporters of Awami League and BNP in the morning in Bottola union of Nangalkot. However, the incident took place outside of the election centers, said Cumilla police super Syed Nurul Islam. 

Muzibur Rahman, 35, son of Sujat Ali of Muradnagar village of Chandina upazila, was shot dead by police at Pachhim Baleshwar Primary School while allegedly stealing away ballot box, said Chandina Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Faysal.

The bodies were sent to Cumilla Medical College Hospital.
