‘Entrepreneurial skills contributing to economic growth’

Staff Correspondent: Vice President of Bangladesh Chapter of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Mehboobul Alam said, “Entrepreneurial skills are contributing to the economic growth.”

He said, Startups are the driving force behind structural change in South Asian economies.

Mehboobul Alam came up with comments while speaking at a three-day Boot Camp for Startups programme organised by the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and FBCCI in Dhaka recently.

More than forty young Bangladeshi entrepreneurs participated in this programme.

Four leading expert Mentors from India are coaching the emerging young entrepreneurs of Bangladesh.

Alam said, "By contributing in form of job creation for the next generation of youth workers through their innovative entrepreneurial skills startups are contributing to the economic growth of economies in the South Asia region".

The objective of the three-day boot camp was to provide a platform and a forum to the representatives of various startups from different industries to air their views and concerns as well as to network and connect with fellow startups and business leaders of other countries of the region.

Mashraka Binta Mosharrof, who participated in the programme, said, "I came to this boot camp nervous and having no expectations of making friends but I came back confident, inspired, with new ideas and visions and also with friends who are so supportive and empowering. It was one of the best experiences of my life".
