Ershad starts election campaign at Dhaka-17

Senior Correspondent: Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad will contest in next general polls from Dhaka-17 (Gulshan, Banani and Cantonment area).

He also started campaign in the electoral area formally on Monday.

From the morning, he visited people at Bhasantek Bazar, Damal Court and Kachukhet and sought votes for his party symbol "Plough" in the upcoming general polls.

He also urged people to cast vote for "Plough" for the development and security for people of the area.

He also spoke in three separate roadside rallies at Bhasantek Bazar, Damal Court and Kachukhet since the morning.

In his speech, Ershad said, "I'm a child of yours. Once I was lawmaker of this area. I responded to your calls whenever you wanted.  I made roads, educational institutions and many structures here. I'm with you always and will be. (I) promise, you get peace if you cast vote for "Plough". I want to serve you forming the government."
