Export-import halted thru' Bhomra port

Satkhira Correspondent: Export-import through Satkhira’s Bhomra land port remained suspended from Tuesday morning after workers in India’s Ghojadanga went on a strike. 

Indian C&F agents staff Welfare Association are enforcing the strike called to protest against the launch of digital system at Ghojadanga customs station.

However, the movement of passport holders were seen normal in the port.

Bhomra C&F Association leaders said that the official activities have been started through online (Digital System) in Ghojadanga land port following the direction of Indian customs. As a result, export-import has been reduced by 70 percent. Later, the Indian C&F agents staff Cargo Welfare Association called the strike.

Bhomra C&F Association president Arafat Hossain confirmed the matter.
