Fakhrul's meeting with Khaleda Zia stayed

Senior Correspondent: The meeting which was scheduled to be held between BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir this noon has been suspended due to the illness of Khaleda Zia.

Shairul Kabir Khan, media wing member of Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office, confirmed this to risingbd.com.

Shairul Kabir Khan said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was supposed to sit for a meeting with the party chairperson at 3:00pm on Thursday. But the meeting has been suspended due to the illness of Khaleda Zia.

On February 8, Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of the Special Court-5 in Dhaka convicted the former prime minister and sentenced her to five years’ imprisonment in the much-talked-about Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. Later, she was sent to jail.
