Fareast chairman arrested

Senior Correspondent: The chairman and owner of Fareast Islami Multi Cooperative Society Limited, Shamim Kabir, has been arrested for allegedly embezzling Tk 300 crore.

Organized crime unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested him. A messages from CID confirmed on Tuesday.

He wanted in 28 cases CID’s officer Sharmin Jahan said.

Details will be disclosed through a press conference later, the officer added.
