Economic Correspondent: The name of much talked ‘Farmers Bank’ has been changed. Bangladesh Bank renamed The Farmers Bank Limited as Padma Bank Limited.
Bangladesh Bank- the central bank of the country, has issued a circular in this regard on Wednesday.
Earlier, Bangladesh Bank deployed some observers noticing irregularities in 2016.
The bank was established in 2013. Sonali, Agrani, Janata, Rupali Banks and Investment Corporation of Bangladesh are the owners of 60 percent shares of the bank now.
