Father, son killed in Mymensingh road crash

Staff Correspondent, Mymensingh: A man and his son were killed and three others injured as a private car hit a covered van from behind on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Nishinda village in Bhaluka upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as private car passenger Kadir Master, 65, and his son Juel Khan. Driver of the private car and Kadir Master’s two other sons—Bachir Khan and Biplob Khan—were also injured in the accident.

Md Mamun-or-Rashid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhaluka Police Station, said a private car hit a Mymensingh bound covered van from behind on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Nishinda village in Bhaluka upazila of the district around 11:30am, leaving Kadir Master dead on the spot and his three sons who were in the  private car and driver of the private car critically injured.

On information, members of Fire Service and Civil Defense and local people rushed to the spot and recovered them, he said.

The OC said the injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where Juel succumbed to his injuries.
