Former Padma Oil MD sent to jail

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sent former Managing Director (MD) of the state-run Padma Oil company Abul Khair to jail in a corruption case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Delwar Hossain passed the order on Thursday.

Earlier, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Sirajul Islam, also assistant director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) produced him before and sought to confine in him jail until trial ends.

ACC Armed Police unit led by its director AKM Jayed Hossain arrested Abul Khair from his Gulshan residence on Wednesday night.
