Four killed as truck rams Nasiman in Jessore

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: At least four people were killed and four others were injured as a truck rammed a human-hauler, locally known as Nasiman, at Harikhali area of the district’s Sharsha upazila on Sunday afternoon.
All the victims are known as residents of different village of Sharsha upazila.
The deceased were known as Nazrul Islam, 35, Nasiman driver and son of Abdul Wahab of Bagachrha area, Roksana Khatun, 26, wife of Liton of Chhoto Achrha, Alamgir Hossain, 35, son of Abul Hossain of Jadavpur village, and Sumon, 10, son of Shahjahan Ali of Sonatonkati village.
The injured were ascertained as Amena Khaun, 40, wife of Shahjahan Ali of Sonatonkati village and mother of deceased Sumon, her daughter Sharimin, 15, Ashraf Uddin, 35, son of Jillur Rahman of Harikhali village, and Onkon, 7, son of deceaded Roksana and Liton of Chhoto Achrha.
Relatives of the casualties said a truck rammed the Nasiman while it was standing with passengers at Harikhali on Navaron of Jessore-Satkhira road, leaving driver Nazrul dead on the spot and the passengers injured.
Alamgir and Roksana succumbed on their way to Jessore Upazila Health Complex and Sumon died while he was undergoing treatment at Jessore General Hospital.
The four injured are also in critical state, said Abdullah Al-Mamun, physician of Jessore General Hospital.
