Four to die for killing schoolboy

A Dhaka court has sentenced four people including a couple to death penalty in a case filed over killing eight grader Kausar in the capital’s Kamrangirchar.

Dhaka’s Seventh Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Nazrul Islam passed the order on Monday.

The convicts are Altaf Hossain, his wife Farida and two others Zamir Ali and Shahjahan.

Of the convicts, Zamir Ali is on the run. Other three accused were present in the court during announcement of verdict. They were sent to jail after the verdict.

Assistant Public Prosecutor of the court Humayun Kabir confirmed the news.

Kausar was abducted for ransom. Though family paid Tk 50,000 to the abductors, they did not return Kausar. Later, family filed an abduction case.

Police arrested Zamir and recovered Kausar body which was buried.
