Funding militancy: 8 NGO men put on fresh 3-day remand

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has placed eight officials of a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) on a fresh 3-day remand in a case filed with the capital’s Pallabi Police Station under the Anti-Terrorism act for their alleged involvement in funding militancy.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder passed the order after hearing in the case on Friday.
The people who were put on remand are: Safwanur Rahman Sultan, Nazrul Islam, Abu Taher, Ilias Mridha, Ashraful Alam, Hasnain and Kamrul.
Jahangir Alam, Inspector of Counter Terrorism unit of Police, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced them before the court after a six-day remand ended and sought a fresh 10-day remand for them.
