GDP growth hits record 7.86pc

Staff Correspondent: The country’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth finally hit the highest ever 7.86 per cent in the last fiscal year of 2017-18, according to the final estimation of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
It was disclosed at the ECNEC meeting held with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at NEC conference room in the city’s Agargaon on Tuesday.
Bangladesh estimated 7.65 per cent economic growth for the fiscal year ending June 30.
The growth has accelerated from the previous record. Per capita income has also increased.
