Gayle hits record sixes

Sports Correspondent: Chris Gayle becomes the first player to hit 800 sixes in T20 cricket.

Today against Khulna Titans in the eliminator match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), he hit an amazing 14 sixes on his way to 126 from 51 balls while there were also six fours. He hit two big sixes to finish proceeding and give Rangpur an eight-wicket victory.

Gayle’s ton is also the first century of this season’s BPL.

Now the number of his century is 19 in the T20 format and four in the BPL. Since 2011 he has scored a century in every calendar year.

Gayle has hit 10-plus sixes in a T20 innings on whopping 14 occasions. No other batsman has hit 10 more than twice. Head and shoulders above the rest! After him, Brendon McCullum, Evin Lewis and Dasun Shanaka hit 10-plus sixes in 2 occasions.
