Gold worth Tk1.5cr seized at Ctg airport

Staff Correspondent: Customs officials seized 32 gold bars worth Tk1.5 crore from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Wednesday morning.
On a tip-off, customs officials led by Assistant Director Abu Hanif Mohammad Abdul Ahad searched the plane around 8:00am and seized the gold bars in an abandoned condition.
However, no one was arrested in this connection. The market value of the gold is TK 1.69 crore. A case has been filed in this connection.
