Gono Forum MP Mokabbir takes oath

Parliament Correspondent:  Gono Forum's another lawmaker Mokabbir Khan, who contested 11th parliamentary election under the banner of Jatiya Oikyafront from Sylhet-2 constituency, was sworn in Tuesday noon, following the footsteps of Sultan Mohammad Mansur.

He took his oath around 12.00pm at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

In response to a letter sent by Mokabbir to Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday, an arrangement was made for him to take oath at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

In the letter, the MP said that with his party's consent, he has decided to take oath either on April 2 or 3.

Earlier, the party MP Sultan Mansur (Moulvibazar-2), who was later expelled from the party, took oath on March 7.

BNP along with Gono Forum and some other parties joined the December-30 election in alliance under the banner of Jatiya Oikyafront. BNP bagged six seats while Gono Forum two in the election.
