Govt approves Anti-Terrorism unit

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh government has approved Anti-Terrorism unit to curb the militancy across the country.

The ministries of Home and Finance have recently given the final approval in this regard.

AIG (Confidential) Md Moniruzzaman of Police Headquarters came up with the disclosure on Wednesday.

He said, "The government has approved the Anti-Terrorism unit of Police which will work only for curbing the militancy. The team will start its work soon."

"The team will be formed with 581 members. An official holding Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) will lead the unit," he added.
