Senior Correspondent: Alleging that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was kept in a worn-out jail, the party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the government is violating human rights.
He said, "Khaleda Zia was sentenced to five years imprisonment in a totally false and fabricated case. The government is violating human rights keeping Khaleda Zia in solitary confinement at worn-out Dhaka central jail. This is also crimes against humanity and they (govt) will have to face justice for this."
Fakhrul came up with the statement while speaking in sit-in programme in front of the party's Nayapaltan central office on Tuesday.
The party is observing the programme demanding release of the party chairperson Khaleda Zia.
