'Govt working to ensure social rights'

Faridpur Correspondent: LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain said the ruling Awami League government is working to ensure social rights for people. Nobody will die without food during the Prime Minister Sheikh led government.

He said this at a function organised for providing financial assistance to educational institutions, Mosques, temples and cultural organizations at Kobi Jasim Uddin hall of the town.

The function was jointly organized by district administration, Zila Parishad and Sadar Upazila Parishad.

The minister also urged the countrymen to cast their vote again for Awami League in the upcoming general election to continue the development works in the country.

The minister provided financial assistance to some 200 poor families, 74 religious institutions and 13 cultural organizations on the occasion.

Presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ommey Salma Tanzia, Superintendent of Police (in charge) Jamal Pasha, Sadar Upazila Chairman Khandkar Mohtesham Hossain Babor, and Zila Parishad Chairman Lokman Hossain Mridah addressed the function.
