Gunfight in Sundarbans: Six hostages rescued

Bagerhat Correspondent: Law enforcers have rescued six fisherman hostages and four boats from the clutches of pirates.
Coast Guard and Forest Guard jointly conducted a drive at Gatarkhal of Sharankhola range in East Sundarbans and rescued them on Saturday noon.
Earlier, Forest Guard and Mama-Bhagne pirate group locked into a gunfight there.
Abul Kamal Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Katka wildlife sanctuary centre of Sharankhola range, confirmed the news.
The hostages were rescued are known as Jafar Sheikh, 22, Gaus Sheikh, 42, Goffar Hawladar, 27, Nazmul Haque, 26, Abul Bashar, 19, and Monirul Haque, 23.
They all hailed from different villages of Dakop upazila under Khulna district, according to Forest Department.
