HC forms committee over 2 students' death

Staff Correspondent: The High Court on Wednesday formed a three-member committee over the death of college students in a city road accident.

The members of the committee are- professor Mizanur Rahman, director of Accident and Research Institute of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Professor Md Hadiuzzaman and Nirapad Sarak Chai Andolon`s chairman Ilyas Kanchan.

The High Court bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam passed the order.

The committee will investigate the reason and the responsibility percentage of the concerned authority, said writ petitioner lawyer Barrister Ruhul Kajal.

Earlier, the High Court directed Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan to pay Tk 5 lakh to each of the families of two students who were killed in Sunday's crash on Airport Road. The court gave the company seven days to pay the money.
