HC orders to confiscate all properties of Niko

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has ordered the government to confiscate all the properties of Canadian oil and gas company Niko Resources.
The HC bench comprising justices of Naima Haider and Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman passed the order on Thursday.
Besides, the court also declared joint deals with BAPEX and Petrobangla are illegal.
Deputy attorney general Mokhlesur Rahman represented the state in the case.
Niko signed the deals- joint venture agreement and gas purchase and sales agreement (GPSA)- with Bapex and Petrobangla in 2003 and 2006 respectively.
