HSC, equivalent exams begin

Staff Correspondent: The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations, under ten education boards across the country, has begun.
The examinations are started at 10:00am on Monday. Tough measures have been taken to check question paper leakage. The first day began with a Bangla first paper examination.
A total of 1,351,505 students from 9,081 educational institutions took part in the examinations. Of them, 664,496 students are male, and 687,009 female.
Education ministry sources said that 11,47,747 students will sit under eight general education boards while 78,451 under madrasa and 1,24,265 under technical education boards.
All the examinees were asked to take their seats in the examination centres 30 minutes before the examinations begin.
The written examinations will end on May 11 while the practical examinations will be held from May 12 to May 21.
